I’ve had a couple of shoots with Christyn and Hans in the last couple of months. They’re expecting their first baby and wanted to get some fun baby bump photos around Kansas City. We did our first shoot when Christyn was 6 months along at Loose Park and we did another one just recently (over 8 months) at The Plaza and the Nelson Atkins Art Museum. Unfortunately, both shoots were very hot days, but they were troopers and you’d never guess how hot it was looking at them! Such a fun couple and very excited about their new Batman, Wes!
Some of my favorite shots from both shoots:

What’s better than a hot summer morning at the pool? I can’t think of much right now. Monique and Chase joined me for a refreshing late morning swim and I got in some great shots of mommy & son play time!

Once we finally got some decent weather in Kansas City, I finally got to take out my cousin, Emily, and her fiance, Kevin, for an engagement photo shoot. It was a little windy and chilly, but they were both little troopers as we braved the elements.
We headed to the West Bottoms, one of my favorite places to shoot, and found this great piece of graffiti that was perfect. Emily is on the creative side and wanted to throw these mustaches into a few shots and while I was shaking my head at the time, they really did turn out quirky and cute.
Kudos to Kevin for going along with all of our crazy ideas for shots and poses. He’ll fit into the family quite well, I think! I’m super excited for these two kids and look forward to part 2 of our shoot, including Luna, the cocker spaniel beast.

When my good friend, Tish, called me up and asked me to shoot some pics of her and her two boys, I jumped at the chance. I don’t get to shoot people very often, so any time I can practice on real people is great! Besides, Boomer needed a break.
Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate with us. The day came and it was foggy, cold and extremely overcast all day. We made the best of it, though, and the boys were troopers. I think we even came out with a few decent shots.

Spring
It seems like it’s taken longer than usual, or maybe it’s because this winter has been especially brutal, but the trees here in Kansas City are finally starting to get leaves and blooms. I love this time of year! Nice to see you again, Spring! Stick around for a while, won’t you?
Dog Park Day!
So, it seems as if Spring might be here to stay. *knockonwood* Boomer and I took advantage of this first dry day and went to Penn Valley Dog Park. We love it here, but with a big chunk of it missing grass we can’t make it very often due to Boomer’s long, flowing, feminine locks.
I brought my camera with the 85mm fixed lens today and shot some fun pics at the park and nearby Liberty Memorial.
