I had a great shoot with Gavin and his parents, Cori & Jeff yesterday morning. Gavin is 4 months old and such an easy going little cutie. He patiently put up with me hovering over him with my equipment in his face. It’s crazy hot in Kansas City this week (100+ temps) so we made do in the house with a big window and a softbox off to the side set at about 1/4 – 1/8 strength just to get rid of some shadows. I stuck with my 50mm lens and got some great shots just using some things around us like a green bean bag and a chair in his nursery. I’m learning that you have to be creative with what’s around you when shooting babies, and to make it quick! He was very patient, but after about 30-45 minutes, he was done with me.
